Sweet Fix

School holidays are about to descend upon us which means my life then turns into a circus act of precariously balancing work, clients, meals, shopping, extra housework as well as entertaining kids ... and all of their friends! I think I will take inspiration from these great kid friendly treats and have a big baking session this weekend ready for the school hols. Make your own ice-cream sundaes is always a big hit with the kids. I usually put out three tubs of Ben and Jerry ice-cream, three flavours of topping and little bowls of chopped up chocolate bars, nuts and glace cherries. They have so much more fun putting it together themselves!

Apple Fresh

Images via 'Modern Country' and 'Dreamy Whites'
What a lovely fresh combination green and white is. These crisp green apples and white flowers are a lovely inspiration for a decorating palette. Throw this combination together in any interior scheme and it will always look crisp and clean - almost good enough to eat! It's also easy to add another colour to the mix without making a mistake. I've used it with both raspberry red and pink before and it would go equally well with yellow, beige or blue. It's particularly pretty palette for conservatories or any sunny room that looks out onto the garden.

Lazy Sundy Mornings

I had a very lazy but luxurious morning in bed today - it was all a bit rainy and uninspiring outdoors so I thought I would just spend the morning lounging around. I had an indulgent breakfast in bed - coffee, croissants and freshly squeezed orange juice then flicked through the latest fashion magazines and skimmed the paper. It was just a couple of hours but it did me the world of good and made realise that it's very important to occasionally, slow down and take time to smell the roses! Have a lovely, relaxing Sunday.

Winery Day Trip

It was a perfect blue sunny Winter's day so we decided to take a drive to the country and have lunch at one of the stylish wineries in the Yarra Valley. Domaine Chandon is always a favourite and a glass of their bubbly always goes down so well at lunch! It was a beautiful drive in dappled sunshine past rolling hills with cows lazily grazing in lush, green pastures. As we admired the rows of vines in  the picturesque landscape we washed down velvety reds with some of the local cheeses and felt very contented with ourselves. As the sun began to sink we 'merrily' headed back to our cosy house and warm fire. Have a great weekend!

Pommery Pop

Tonight I am going out on a 'date' with my husband and celebrating the anniversary of the day we first met. It was a cold, wet, windy night seven years ago - one of those nights that you desperately want to stay indoors but force yourself to go out. It was a girlfriend's birthday party at a bar and all I really wanted to do was stay at home curled up in front of the TV watching DVD's. Anyway Interior Designer meets Landscape Architect - a match made in heaven and the rest is history! So in honour of that rainy night I am cracking open a bottle of champagne, sliding into some heels and painting the town pink!

Nursery Days

Images via Dear Lillie

One of my best friends is just about to have a baby and they haven't found out if it's a girl or a boy yet. They're happy with either so they are looking forward to the surprise. They have a beautiful grand period home and I thought that a nursery like this one would work perfectly. Stylish and calming in white painted timber, beige linen and pure white cotton. It's still cute but will look right at home in their elegant, graceful house.

Memories of Capri

With everyone around me heading off to warmer climates to escape the cold winter my thoughts turn to lovely summer holidays spent in Europe. Travelling down the Amalfi coastline in a zippy little Fiat stopping at small seaside villages on the way to cool off with a glass of Limoncello. Icy gelatis, pebble beaches, coloured beach umbrellas, winding roads, azure coloured water and exuberant, suntanned Italians fill my head with fond memories. Sadly my memories of a boat trip to Capri are ones I'd rather forget. I was seasick on the boat trip over then spent  the rest of the day recovering on a park bench before I had to take the boat back that night! I must go back again some time and see it the way it's supposed to be!

Mexican Macaron Shop

Images via Theurel and Thomas

We all love Macarons – brightly coloured, full of flavour, petite, round, crisp on the outside, smooth and creamy on the inside but here is a treat not just to make your taste buds water but your eyes as well! 'Theural and Thomas' is the first Mexican Macaron patisserie shop - and probably the most beautiful. The styling  is  exquisite and innovative and I  believe it sets a new benchmark for retail and café design.

Bathroom Luxury

Images via House Beautiful

How heavenly divine is this bathroom? Just imagine having a long, luxurious bath filled with your favourite bath salts in that silver bath tub. A glass of pink champagne to help you unwind. Imagine wrapping yourself in those fluffy pink bath towels before lathering your skin in scented body lotion then finishing off with a spritz of Chanel perfume. A luxury cotton robe awaits before slipping into bed!
