Crazy About Colour

 

It's a sunny day so I am in the mood for bright, happy colours. I love all of these spaces with their splash of vibrant colour - makes you instantly feel happy! The clean, white canvas of white walls, white bench tops and simple white furniture let's the colour pop without looking too busy or overwhelming. Nearly all of my clients are after classic, neutral colours but how much more fun would it be if they all introduced a splash of bright colour into their decorating schemes!

Vintage White

I love the old world charm of vintage pieces - things that tell a story and add character and warmth to a house. Ever since I was a little girl I have always loved fairy wings, tutus and satin ballet slippers so I am loving these vintage versions. Starting off my career as a fashion designer, I also love the vintage calico dressmaking mannequins from when couture was at it's peak. A few of these quirky vintage finds dotted around the home will give it personality and a sense of style that is unique to it's owners.

Glamour Girl Blake

I think Blake Lively has universal appeal - she has obvious appeal to teenagers being the star of 'Gossip Girl' but I am also a fan and I am well past my teenage years! I love her style and sunny Californian disposition. She's got fabulous hair, a figure to die for, a bubbly personality and an engaging smile. She's currently one of the faces of Chanel (my favourite brand) so it seems that Blake can't put a foot wrong! She looks a little reminiscent of Bridgette Bardot in this 'Glamour' magazine photo shoot!

New Romantics

It's Spring and I feel like I need a little revamp of the wardrobe and my beauty products. Our guest bedroom also needs a freshen up so it's a new throw, scatter cushions and bedlinen in preparation for our Summer visitors. Then it's getting rid of cloggy nail polishes and lipsticks that need a lip brush to get the last remaining bit of lipstick from the case. New heels, pretty knits and some fun, fashion accessories are also on the list.

Aqua Shimmer

My love affair with aqua started with Tiffany's. Now I always associate the colour with things that are stylish, luxurious and highly desirable. I have painted feature walls in aqua, designed parties with an aqua theme and had Tiffany jewellery on my Christmas and birthday wish list for years. Aqua is also one of my favourite fashion colours - I have blue eyes and I always think wearing aqua makes my eyes look bluer. It's such a pretty, fresh summery colour that I think it's hard to go wrong with aqua!
