Once declared the most liberated women in post war France - she starred in 47 films as well as recording 80 songs. Brigitte Bardot was also notorious for going against the grain – she won the Légion d’honneur award for her French stardom which is the highest decoration in France – only to refuse the award!

It’s always good to get inspired by Bardot before the Holidays. It’s all about capri pants, polka dots, ballet flats and big hair. Her iconic sex kitten look has created a style that will be loved and cherished for years to come!

Grace Kelly's Style and Elegance
Hollywood star, royal bride, beloved princess - Grace Kelly lived all three roles with a style all of her own. Renowned for her cool beauty and faultless good taste, the young actress stood apart from the other film sirens of the fifties. Thousands of women, both in the US and Europe, emulated her classic yet accessible style. Her marriage to Prince Rainier of Monaco in 1956 catapulted Grace Kelly to further fame and cemented her influence on the world of fashion. From the Parisian catwalks to the pages of Vogue, the 'Grace Kelly Look' became the look of the moment.

Style Achievements
Hermes Birkin named one of his bags "The Kelly Bag" after Grace. Ever since it's release it's been one of the world's most desirable fashion items. With almost every star owning one and a long waiting list for those who don't. Grace also topped America's Best Dressed List in 1956.

Audrey Hepburn

Audrey in Black and White
Born in Brussels Audrey Hepburn is one of the biggest style icons of our time. Perhaps it was the elegance and wit she possessed, or that little black dress and white gloves in “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”.

Like style icon Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, Audrey Hepburn kept it simple. She too loved clean lines and clothes the emphasized her tall and slim physique. Her physical attributes were very different from other actresses from her time, like Marilyn Monroe.

Audrey Hepburn knew how to take the simplest silhouettes and make them elegant. She is famous for bringing us the:- 'The Little Black Dress', Capri Pants, Ballet Flats, Turtlenecks, Trench Coats and perfect Handbags

Her main fashion designer was Hubert Givenchy, who designed her wardrobe for films such as Funny Face, Breakfast at Tiffany's and Paris When It Sizzles.

Coco Chanel

I have had a love affair with all things Chanel ever since I was a teenager. I have read all her biographies, bought Chanel books, followed the collections, shopped at the Rue de Cambon and indulged myself with her perfume, jewelery and cosmetics over the years. One day I promise I will spoil myself with a 2.55 quilted bag...one day!

Sarah Jessica Parker

Sex and The City
Like the rest of the world, I have watched every episode of Sex and the City and both movies. On and off screen Sarah Jessica Parker remains a style icon. She always manages to look a knock out on the red carpet and always keeps us guessing by constantly re-inventing her look. She goes from long hair to short hair, curly hair to straight, glamorous one minute and Bohemian chic the next. Here is a lovely elegant scene from the TV series.

American Vogue
Sarah Jessica Parker has been on the cover and in the pages of just about every fashion and beauty magazine known to mankind. This shoot below by Mario Testino is a particularly elegant one for US Vogue. SJP is not a classic beauty but she has a great sense of style and flair.

Blake Lively

Success
At just 18 Blake Lively starred in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, one of the most successful tween movies in history grossing $42 million. Following that she landed a role on one of TV’s hottest shows Gossip Girl and has since appeared on  a host of covers including American Vogue. She was also named of the top 35 most stylish women to look out for by Glamour UK. In 2011, she starred in the Ben Affleck directed movie The Town.

Gossip Girl
Blake Lively plays 'Serena' the star of Gossip Girl, alongside Leighton Meester, a show targeted at wannabe teenagers that tells the story of well-to-do kids in New York’s Upper Eastside, and the bloggers that follow their antics. All that aside, Blake is a gorgeous all American girl with a sunny disposition and an incredible sense of style that warrants the attention of anyone interested in fashion and wholesome American beauty. I am sure she will go onto bigger and better things.

Biography
Some girls grow up dreaming of a career in Hollywood. Others, like Blake Lively, have to be dragged into it by their brothers. Blake’s parents were both talent agents in L.A., so she had nothing but doors open. Still, she resisted Tinseltown’s siren call. So, brother Eric went behind her back and secretly signer her up with his agent and so begin her successful career.

A Modern Day Princess

The following Vogue fashion story for the November Issue with Anne Hathaway is sublimely elegant. Shot on location in Paris and New York by my favourite photographer Mario Testino. Mario has managed to capture the sophistication and glamour of a by-gone era that I really love. Jewels by Van Cleef and Arpels, Cartier and Chopard. Evening gowns in duchesse satin and silk faille are fit for a princess, long satin gloves and crystal embossed clutches by Roger Vivier and Jimmy Choo all add to the sparkle of a night on the town! Who better to escort Anne than French actor Raphael Personnaz?
