The Race That Stops A Nation! 

It's all about fashion, glamour, champagne, frivolity and a friendly flutter!

So let the race begin .....

I love the Spring Racing Carnival ~

It's so refreshing and exciting to see Melbourne dressed in their finest ~

men in smart Italian suits and silk ties,

women in laylike dresses, feathers, flowers, fascinators and heels.

It's a great opportunity to dress up, have a glass of champagne and a social bet.

It's a public holiday so if you are not actually going to the races

then gather some friends, throw a party and watch the race on TV.

This year it promises to be a glittering Royal affair with

Prince Charles and Camilla attending.

The fashion tips are for bright and colourful on the fashion field

~ except for the classic black and white dress code of Derby Day.

Melbourne Cup Day Party

I am having a bit of a bash for 'Melbourne Cup Day' -
the horse race that stops the nation.
I have invited a group of friends over to watch the race.
In the past I have gone to a lot of effort,
so they will be expecting big things ~
good food, champagne, some betting and
maybe even our own "Fashions On The Field" competition!
I have been hunting around for some inspiration
and this colourful desert bar is full of gorgeous ideas.
