Lollipop Pastels

 

Loving these pretty pastel shades for summer. I am fixated with colour, and at the moment it's pastels. I like to treat myself with small, inexpensive pretty things - it makes me feel indulgent without spending a fortune. I love buying fresh flowers, ribbon for gift wrapping and parties, beautiful wrapping paper, scented handmade soap, candles, macarons in pretty boxes, exquisite stationary and candy-coloured lollipops for the kids!

Opulence in Blue

 

 

You can never go wrong with blue - I have blue eyes so I have always had a fondness for blue but everyone looks great in the colour blue. Men always look suave in a blue polos on the weekend or a pale blue business shirt for work, kids look cool in blue and every woman whatever skin colour or hair colour looks becoming in blue. It's a great colour to decorate with and just about everyone likes the colour blue ... what's their not to like about this serene, calming versatile colour?

Fun Fair

 

Every summer for about 4 weeks a carnival comes to town. We all love it - the vibrant colours, the flashing lights, the rides and the fairy floss. It fills the air with magic - it reminds me of a happy childhood days! I love the scary fast rides - that spin you upside down, but they make my husband feel sick so he prefers the ferris wheel ... leaving the serious rides to the kids and I! Have a great weekend!

Refined Luxury

For Christmas I bought myself a pair of Chanel quilted ballet flats ...in black of course! They have the CC stamped on the toes so everytime I look down it reminds me of how lucky I am. These have been on my wish list for a very long time and I finally felt the timing was right to reward myself with a some extravagance. It 's not so much the shoes that make me so happy - it's the life time love affair with all things Chanel and finally being able to own something Chanel that represents style and refined luxury!

Vogue Addiction

 

I have been reading and collecting Vogue magazines for as long as I can remember. Back when I was 12 or 13 and pocket money was hard to come buy I would spend hours on end at the local library reading the import fashion magazines. I started off with French Elle and American Seventeen then progressed to Vogue. At fashion school I spent a small fortune on magazines and to this day it's still one of my favourite ways to relax- a cup of tea and the latest copy of Vogue and I'm in heaven!

Prints Charming

I love the beautiful prints and creative work of Carolyn Quartemaine, my all time favourite textile designer. We must be about the same age, both studying fashion and textiles at the same time. I feel like I have grown up with her work and evolving style. Her prints are pretty, delicate, enchanting and romantic. I love her use of colour and heavenly fabrics such as chiffon, silk and tulle. She is a truly original designer - setting trends that been copied over and over, standing the test of time. Thanks Carolyn for being so inspiring!

Paris When It Sizzles

Love this take on Bridgette Bardot, she's one of my all time favourite beauty icons. I just adore the tousled bedroom hair, the smokey cats eyes with the false lashes and the liquid eyeliner. I love the sexy, nude pout and the nautical sailor stripes are perfect for a trip to Paris or a weekend by the sea!

Vanilla Cream

Today I'm loving anything in vanilla cream. Soft, creamy tones provides warmth and comfort to any interior and it's always so timeless and classic. Think ivory silk, cream linens and damask, old fashioned lace and chalky paints. My favourite desserts are also based on my love affair with vanilla cream - my mouth waters when I think of vanilla bean ice-cream, creme anglaise, creme brulee, vanilla slices and pannacotta!
