Generally speaking Australian interior designers have a very different approach to design to that of our American counterparts. I think it's because our roots are based in the UK and Europe so we have loosely followed the design philosophies of the English, French and Italians. We have then adapted the colour palette and materials to suit our landscape and climate and have ended up with something totally unique. We tend towards clean lined minimalism and neutral colour palettes therefore I get great joy from following the American design blogs. I love their creativity and use of patterns and strong colours. I love the furniture styles which are hard to find here. I adore the elegance and glamour that I so often see on the pages of American interior magazines and my favourite American blogs.
