is still influencing fashion, beauty and style today.

Gwyneth is looking very glamorous and aristocratic in this fashion shoot for Harpers Bazaar. She looks both regal and elegant showcasing these gorgeous couture gowns. Gwynthew is one of those stars who looks equally relaxed dressed up for the red carpet or barefoot at home cooking up a storm for her cookbook.

Every time I watch Carrie Bradshaw in a re-run of 'Sex and the City' or see Sarah Jessica Parker on the red carpet I think I need to take a leaf out of SJP's book and get a little adventurous with my style. Conservative and strictly co-ordinated by nature I would never dare to mix styles and textures or shapes and colours. Maybe it's time I took on board some of SJP's fashion savvy and take a walk on fashion's wild side!

I have always been a fan of a Reese Witherspoon,

if she is a headlining in a romantic comedy

I'll be dragging my husband to the box office!

And I know it won't disappoint.

She always looks stylish and elegant on the red carpet,

has lead a relatively normal life despite living in the spotlight

and has always behaved in a ladylike and graceful manner.

She is a true starlet!

Poolside Glamour

Love this glamorous poolside shoot of Kirsten Dunst for Harper's Bazaar. It reminds me of one of my favourite films 'The Great Gatsby'. It must be the crisp summer whites, the grand scale of the pool and the house, the manicured gardens, the elegant parasol and the well groomed dogs. I love a bit of poolside chic!

At Home with Aerin

 

I am a huge fan of Aerin Lauder - she is stylish and full of grace, she is naturally beautiful and not only does she have an amazing job working for a hugely successful cosmetics company - but her house, wardrobe and make-up collection are all to die for. What is their not to admire (envy) about this lady? But the thing that stands out most about Aerin is her down to earth nature. Somehow she has managed to take fame and fortune in her stride and lead a relatively normal existence with a happy family life. Well done Aerin, you're an inspiration!

Pool Party

Don't you just love Jessica Alba - she is totally gorgeous with those big doe eyes of hers. I also think she looks fabulously stylish on the red carpet - she always looks so chic and elegant. In Hollywood where actresses opt for overtly sexy, showy dresses, Jessica still manages to stand out from the crowd in something demure and classic. Here she looks totally sweet and pretty in pink for an Elle Magazine shoot.

I Don't Know How She Does It!

 

I am so cross with myself! Living in small coastal town, it's a bit of effort to get to the movies so as soon as 'I Don't Know How She Does It' hit the big screen I planned a night out at the movies. I am a huge SJP fan so I was very excited about her new film, especially after her whirlwind trip to Melbourne. Anyway, we get to the movies and find 'Moneyball' showing - I momentarily got distracted by both Brad Pitt and my husband's enthusiasm for a more 'blokey' film and ended up seeing that instead. A week later, we decided to go again only to discover my movie was no longer showing so I've now missed it and will have to wait until it comes out on DVD. How annoying!! Please tell me if I missed much.

The Girl Can Cook

 

Gwyneth Paltrow is cooking barefoot in the kitchen of her London townhouse. Apart from being a great actress, mother to Apple and Moses and wife to Chris Martin of Coldplay fame she is also an extremely good cook. Recently she released a cookbook, My Father's Daughter, the work of a passionate home cook who has a love of fresh simplicity, organic ingredients and a healthly lifestyle. If you like 'Jamie Oliver' or the 'River Cafe' cookbooks be sure to have a browse though My Father's Daughter.

Here are the photos from a shoot by Bon Apetite magazine when they were reviewing her book. I only wish I looked that good when cooking in the kitchen!
