that never dates and never goes out of fashion.

Vanilla Cream

Today I'm loving anything in vanilla cream. Soft, creamy tones provides warmth and comfort to any interior and it's always so timeless and classic. Think ivory silk, cream linens and damask, old fashioned lace and chalky paints. My favourite desserts are also based on my love affair with vanilla cream - my mouth waters when I think of vanilla bean ice-cream, creme anglaise, creme brulee, vanilla slices and pannacotta!

It's A Small World

 

Now that the Spring Racing Carnival madness is almost over I will fill you in on the most fabulous day I had with Frances from Beautiful Interiors and 18th Century Style last Friday. To put you in the picture, Frances is the only reason why I started a blog - I chanced upon hers and was blown away by our similar tastes and she encoraged me to set up my own blog. Despite the fact we live at opposite ends of the country we did 'lunch' last week and spent the day shopping in Melbourne. We laughed, drank champagne, shopped and talked non stop and I felt like we had been friends all of our lives. Our blogging friendship transcended into the real world and I feel that there will be many more glasses of champagne and many, many more hours spent chatting and catching up on what we didn't pack into last Friday!

Classic In Ivory And Gold

I am an old fashioned girl at heart - I like good manners and charm, I like cashmere and silk, pearls and high heels. I like dressing in classic, timeless colours like ivory, shell pink, beige and black. I like dressing up at night and things that sparkle. I like drinking champagne from crystal flutes and old, classic movies. I like men who are chivalrous and open car doors for ladies. I like silver cutlery and linen napkins. In these modern times I think it's nice to hold onto a few old fashioned values!
