Michel Canetti in Colour

 

I have loved fashion illustration ever since I studied Fashion Design after finishing school. French fashion illustrator, Michel Canetti, is one of my favourites. Born in Paris in 1955, he now lives in my hometown of Melbourne so it is really inspiring to see his work around local French cafes and restaurants. Michel is considered one of France's leading fashion illustrators and has worked with some of the world's famous fashion houses and magazines. Here are some examples some of his more colourful illustrations. As you can see his love of French chic, glamorous fashion and feminine beauty reflects in his work.

Summer In The City

 

Love this 'Summer in the City' campaign from Michael Kors - you can almost feel the heat and see the steam rising off the pavement! Love the crisp whites, sky blue and dusky mauve. The sky high stilettoes, the slouchy bags, the sports watch and the mirrored aviators all make the perfect summer accessories.

Poolside Chic

 

 

I am loving this poolside chic. Now that summer is well underway - you will find me at either two places :- by the pool, preferably with a bar close by (!), or down at the beach. I can see myself lounging by these very glamorous pools with my oversized straw hat, large Jackie O style sunglasses and a martini in hand! What a perfectly relaxing way to spend the afternoon!

Summer Vacation

 

 

My bags are packed and I am off on holidays today. My husband and I are heading off on a  luxury road trip. We are following the coast as far as Kangaroo Island in South Australia. Although there is a little bit of camping on the island, I have found some really interesting places to stay along the way including historic limestone cottages and quaint seaside hotels. I have also booked us in to some of the most fabulous seafood restaurants on the coast so we are really going to be spoilt this trip. The weather is looking promising and I am beside myself with excitement. I have planned my daily posts so as not to disappoint anyone and I will be popping by as often as possible to read any comments. Have a great time whilst I'm away!

Holiday Packing

I am off on holidays tomorrow so I am busy packing and sorting out what not to take. So far I have picked out enough clothes to last six months with an outfit for every conceivable occasion! So now I have the difficult task of culling it back so it all fits in a small suitcase for a twelve day vacation. Wish me luck because I just hate paring back!
