Just a little follow up from my adventures at the Spring Racing Carnival ... I'm very disappointed to say Sarah Jessica and I never got to catch up for a glass of champagne - I think she got caught up chatting to Liz Hurley and Shane Warne in the celebrity Marquis!! I'm sure she's a little disappointed too!!! She pretty well stuck to the confines of her Marquis, possibly due to her slight embarrassment at her lack of headwear. I think everyone was hoping to be totally wowed by some fabulous hat by the likes of Phillip Treacy, so both the press and fashionistas were disappointed that she was the only lady at the races without a hat or a fascinator. Everything else was perfect, but sadly no hat! I had a fabulous day although somewhat chilly, so I had to stay wrapped up in a rather tired knit over my pretty dress that spoilt the look a bit. I spent the day admiring all the divine hats and gorgeous outfits, winning the odd race and trying to keep warm by drinking lots of champagne! I'll leave you with a little silver SJP inspiration!

SJP looks lovely I think, love the pink & silver & I do like the hair thingy she is wearing - altho someone could have told her a hat was essential! She looks like she is having a great time tho!
I love Elizabeth Hurley's hat/hairpiece....it really suits her.
The races are such fun, love all the outfits :)
That shot of her pointing could be straight out of the show or movie don't you think! Wow . .she did look good . .Liz kinda looked better I reckon. As for Warne . .no comment! Bet you had a great day.
Melissah ... this looks absolutley gorgeous and I love SJP's outfit .... stunning in pink and silver but I know what you mean she definitely needed a hat or fascinator. I so love those Louboutin shoes and the other pair in your Oaks Day post which just made me melt!!!!! Beautiful as always and I so hope you had a wonderful day on Ladies' Day and I wish I could have been there with you. I am still trying to post of our lovely day and my race day but I have tried three times and blogger keeps wiping it. Anyway, I will keep trying! Have a wonderful week dear Melissah...
hugs and best wishes

SJP looked amazing, so timeless. Although I'm not sure about the hair thing, a little too much for me. Glad you had such a lovely day. x
Amazing Melbourne Cup pics. Thanks for your comments and following my blog!

I adored the bejeweled hair piece, I thought it was more than glamourous enough to replace a hat. Nicolex
Despite the lack of head wear SJP still looks amazing! I loved her jacket and the silver and pink combination - just gorgeous! xx
So glad you had a good time at the races Melissah! Didn't SJP look amazing?! I just adore her but I have to agree, I was waiting for the fabulous hat!
