To be perfectly honest I did not spend my New Year's Eve at a glamorous party in a pair of heels, dressed in a party number with a glass of bubbly in hand. Nor was I surrounded by stylish people with the sound of champagne corks popping loudly in the background. Instead, I spent New Year's Eve in true 'aussie' style down at our local beach with kids in tow. It was a hot summer's night so the dress code for the evening was shorts and summer dresses while kids raced around in the sand in bare feet. Cocktails and canapes were replaced by a sausage in one hand a plastic wine glass in the other but having said that the air was full of the sound of kids laughing, the waves crashing on the beach, fireworks, cicadas humming and a good time was had by all. Maybe next year I will do some thing a little more glamorous 'sans' kids!

Hi Melissah,
Thanks for your comment on Space for Inspiration today, and for letting me know about your blog launch.
It looks fantastic and I particularly love your 'themed pages' at the top. Would love to get your feedback on how you did that. I have tried to add pages but can't work out how to make them look nice & sleek like yours.. Help! :)
Am your newest follower and also added you to my blog roll. Hope you gain traffic from this.
Best of luck with the blog and Happy New Year!

Ahhh, I forgot what Aussie New Years' are like. I am in the US now, and usually spend it in California, freezing at 3am exploring the Rose Parade floats before they take off New Year's Day for the parade.
Hi Melissah,
Thank you for your comments on my blog :) Your blog looks great and is very inspiring! Hope to "see" you again!

Just popped over from Gifts of Serendipity and thought I'd say hi. Your blog is gorgeous. And now I'm following. Have a wonderful week. xx
Melissah,
Your new year's celebration sounds fabulous...on the beach with family and friends sounds like a dream come true.
Thanks for the note on my last post. I love connecting with new people, especially those that share common interests/ideas.
As you can see I 'did' checkout your blog and absolutely love it - from your Christmas images to the introduction of Donna Hay, fashion illustrators, on-and-on. I viewed every page and every little detail of your images. I can already tell that I'm going to like 'following' you. Rita
