Lazy Daze

Some days it's just nice to not do anything. I love nothing more than relaxing at home with cups of tea in bed, piles of good mags, fresh flowers in the house and the sun streaming in through the windows. These are my simple luxuries in life - a weekend without chores and plenty of 'me' time. The phrase 'staycation' was coined after the GFC hit when everyone was looking at more affordable holiday options. Even Vogue dedicated a whole article on the pleasures of staying at home. The most energetic I get on a 'staycation' is going for a stroll along the river or the beach. If I am being very adventurous then I may even have lunch on the deck of our local cafe that sits overlooking the water. They do the best pan fried calamari this side of the coast!

Giving you an award if you want to pop over to my Thursday post to see what it is all about. Congratulation. No doubt many of your followers will agree...

I'm all for "staycations" - travelling is in itself a very unsettling experience in my opinion, and can be very stressful, taking the pleasure out of a holiday. Also, you're never quite sure what the accommodation is going to be like, but quite often the creature comforts of home are much better than some overpriced hotel.

Thanks for dropping by my blog. I will enjoy reading yours.

Hi Melissah, I love your blog, I have been reading your posts for a while, but I don't think I've posted a comment yet.
I think a staycation sounds like a great idea and there really is a lot to be said for simple pleasures.
Also, I love the clothes from this post - where are they from?

Hi Melissa K,
In response to your clothes query on lazy days I'm sorry but I don't know. I have been collecting images & magazine tear sheets for years so I have lost track on where a lot come from & these are old so I can't remember!

Thanks Martha & Annette so much for nominating me with the Stylish Blogger Award. I'm really flattered because it was all just meant to be a bit of fun & I must say I've become addicted & my head is just full of amazing stories to write & beautiful images. There's hardly enough time in the day to both blog & work so work is suffering slightly!
Anyway soon I will find the balance! When I figure out how this award works, I will follow it up & pop it on my post - hopefully this weekend.
x
Melissah
